A fantastic opportunity for an innovative Brand Protection / IP specialist to join the legal team of a global, brand-centric organisation. The role is based in the South West of England with some flexibility to work remotely.
As the company's brands continue to grow globally, this position will play a critical role in leading, driving and coordinating the brand protection efforts across all functions and markets and provide a single focal point for the protection of its brands across the multiple areas that this covers.
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, this role will involve management and leadership responsibility of a team of trade mark and brand protection specialists. This is a vital role within the company with exposure / collaboration with senior leaders and decision makers. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing a best-in-class brand protection strategy for the company's brands; management of the IP portfolio; IP infringement, trade mark registry and enforcement. You will also provide training and educate the business on all Brand Protection and IP matters.
The role requires someone with significant experience and a proven track record of successfully managing and developing a brand protection programme, ideally within retail or FMCG space. You will need to be highly professional with an ability to work both autonomously and adopt a partnership approach to working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels spread across a wide geographical area. The successful applicant will embrace technology, market insight and data to generate meaningful business-centric intelligence to help drive commercial decisions.
