ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, DISPUTE RESOLUTION - GLOBAL BIOTECHNOLOGY/PHARMA COMPANY
A leading multinational pharmaceutical company, that invents life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases, is looking to hire an IP Litigation solicitor. You will assist the Dispute Resolution Group with enforcement of the company's IP rights and defense against IP infringement suits, including managing document collection and review and providing assistance to the company's patent attorneys in adversarial patent office proceedings (including pre-grant and post-grant submissions) in EMEA, APAC and throughout the world.
Because the team is asked to assist in the resolution of disputes spanning a broad range of subject matter, the candidate must have a diverse skill set and be willing to manage and assist general litigation (non-IP) matters.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Developing and managing high-value global IP litigation strategies to advance the company's commercial objectives.
- advocating the company's position in global IP litigation and administrative actions in patent offices
- investigating and assessing disputes, developing settlement strategies, advising the business and leading negotiations.
Ideally you will be 4+ PQE with proven experience of international IP litigation, either at a top law firm or in-house at a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology experience. An advanced degree in the biological sciences (e.g. biochemistry, genetics or immunology) or chemistry would be viewed on favourably.
