Our client, a heavyweight international law firm is seeking an immigration solicitor on a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. The role is due to start in June or early July to ensure a sufficient handover. This is a standalone role, and the successful individual will be the sole immigration solicitor at the firm in the UK.
The purpose of the role is provide a high standard of advice to financial institutions and other companies operating, or planning to operate, in the UK. The role-holder will liaise regularly with in-house counsel, HR professionals and senior managers of the firms' clients on a wide range of immigration issues.
The role will focus on business related advice, so an in-depth understanding of the Immigration Rules, as well as the application process, is required. You will occasionally be required to advise individuals, so will also need thorough understanding of family and personal migration. You will also be the in-house immigration adviser for the firm on UK immigration issues and global mobility.
The successful immigration solicitor is likely to have upwards of 4+ PQE with a business immigration background gained at firm that is highly ranked in the Legal 500 for its business immigration practice. Solid experience of Tier 2 sponsorship licenses is a prerequisite.
